Chapter One: The Slopes

It was a typical day on the slopes, the snow was falling lightly over the mountain, making the slopes look like a winter wonderland. Three friends, Jeff, Ryan and Will, were snowboarding their way down the trails, taking it easy and enjoying the beautiful scenery as they made their way to the chairlift for one more run before it got dark.

The air was crisp, the sky was a deep blue and the mountain was dusted with a fresh layer of snow. Everything seemed so peaceful, so perfect. Little did they know that this perfect day was about to take a turn for the worse.

As the three friends got onto the chairlift, they were filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation. They had been snowboarding for hours now and the last run of the day was sure to be an amazing experience. Little did they know, this would be an experience none of them would soon forget.

As they reached the top of the mountain, the chairlift stopped abruptly. Jeff and Ryan looked at each other in confusion, but it soon became clear that the ski patrol had switched off the lights, and they were the only ones left on the slopes.

They realized with growing panic that they had been abandoned up here, stranded in the darkness with no way down the mountain. All they could do was sit there, suspended high in the air, and pray that someone would come to their rescue before the night was through.

Chapter Two: The Wait

The night dragged on as the three friends huddled together for warmth, each passing minute seeming like an eternity. To make matters worse, it began to snow again, and the temperatures were dropping quickly.

Jeff and Will frantically tried to come up with a plan, but all their efforts were in vain. There was simply no way for them to get off the chairlift, their attempts were pointless.

Ryan, however, was content to just sit back and wait, convinced that someone would eventually come to their rescue. He was confident that the ski patrol had simply got confused and forgotten about them, and was sure that once the morning came, they’d be able to get down the mountain without any trouble.

For hours they sat, shivering in the cold, until finally they heard the sound of an engine. The ski patrol had finally arrived and the three friends had been saved.

Chapter Three: The Rescue

The ski patrol had been searching for the missing snowboarders, and once they had been found, they rushed them to safety. Jeff and Will were both exhausted, and Ryan was still shaking with fear, but they were all relieved to be off the chairlift and out of the cold.

The ski patrol took the three friends to the lodge, where they could warm up and get some much-needed rest. As they got inside and the warmth of the fire began to thaw them out, Jeff and Will thanked the ski patrol for their rescue, and for not giving up on them.

The next morning, Jeff, Ryan and Will woke up to the sun shining down on the mountains, and the snow glistening in the sunlight.

The experience on the chairlift had been a terrifying one, but now that they were safe, they could look back and appreciate the beauty of the snow-covered mountains.

Epilogue

Jeff, Ryan and Will never forgot their frightening ordeal on the chairlift. The experience made them more aware of the danger that comes with skiing, and the importance of being prepared and staying together.

The three friends stayed close, and for years afterwards, the last run of the day on the slopes was always a joyous experience for them, bringing back memories of being rescued and the beauty of the winter wonderland.

VOICE (O.S.)

What are you three doing up there?

A ski patrol officer is standing in the distance, a flashlight in hand. The three of them look relieved.

JOE

We got stranded!

The officer shakes his head and motions for them to jump. Jamie, Sam and Joe unbuckle and jump down, grateful to be on the ground.

JOE

That was a close one.

Jamie and Sam nod in agreement, grateful for the new day. They smile and head down the mountain, ready for the next adventure.
