Chapter One

It was Christmas Eve and for young Ben, it was a special night. Excitement filled the air as he got ready for bed. Ben was already wearing his favorite pajamas, with a few extra layers to keep him warm and cozy. He couldn’t wait for Santa’s arrival and what surprises he might have for Ben.

Just as Ben was about to drift off to sleep, he heard a noise outside of his window and quickly ran to investigate. He was expecting to find Santa’s sleigh and reindeer, but instead there was a large, bright red train. He immediately knew what it was: the Polar Express!

Ben quickly changed into his warmest clothes and grabbed his suitcase, filled with a few of his most treasured possessions. He ran to the window and opened it, just in time to see the conductor hopping off the train and calling out the familiar invitation: “All Aboard!”

Chapter Two

Ben couldn’t believe his eyes as he walked onto the train and saw the beautiful, ornate decorations and the elegant dining car, filled with delicious-smelling treats. He was even more amazed when the conductor introduced him to the other passengers—a group of children from all around the world!

The train ride quickly became filled with singing, laughter, and stories. The children shared tales of their home countries, their families, and the wonderful things they were hoping to see at the North Pole. Ben quickly became fast friends with the other children and they stayed up talking late into the night.

Chapter Three

As the night wore on, Ben began to feel tired and decided to head to his sleeping compartment. He said his goodbyes and went to lie down. As he dozed off, the conductor came by to tuck him in and told him to sleep well, as the Polar Express would be arriving at the North Pole very soon.

Ben had the most wonderful dream in which all of the passengers of the Polar Express flew above the snow-covered countryside, headed for the North Pole and the magical wonder that waited there. When he awoke, he glanced out the window and his eyes filled with awe—he had made it! He was at the North Pole.

The other passengers cheered and the conductor cheered them on. Ben had never been so excited in his life. He wanted to be the first one off the train—he had to see what amazing surprises were waiting for him. He grabbed his suitcase and rushed out of the train, ready to explore the North Pole.

Chapter Four

The North Pole was even more magical and beautiful than Ben could have ever imagined. Everywhere he looked, there were colorful lights and decorations, and snow that sparkled in the moonlight. He could hear cheerful music in the distance and was filled with excitement as he followed the other passengers towards the large, brightly lit Christmas tree in the center of town.

As the children drew closer to the tree, a pair of enormous and beautiful reindeer stepped out from behind it. There was a loud clap of thunder and suddenly, Santa Claus appeared next to them. He was laughing and smiling and the children all cheered and ran towards him, eager to share their Christmas wishes.

Ben stepped forward and nervously held out his wish list. Santa looked down at him and smiled before taking it in his large hands. Santa said, “I see you have been a very good boy this year, Ben. What would you like for Christmas?”

Ben paused for a moment before hesitantly replying, “I want a puppy.” Santa smiled and said, “I think that can be arranged.”

Chapter Five

Afterwards, Ben and the other passengers sat around the large Christmas tree and listened as Santa shared stories about his travels around the world. When it was time to go home, Santa presented each child with a special gift, specially chosen for them. Ben was given a beautiful golden collar for his puppy.

After saying goodbye to Santa and the other passengers, Ben and his parents boarded the Polar Express for the journey home. As the train pulled away, Ben could see a magnificent light show in the night sky, twinkling and sparkling like a million stars. He smiled, filled with knowledge and understanding: Christmas was a time of magic and wonder, and it was a time of spreading kindness and joy throughout the world.

The next morning, Ben awoke to a sweet surprise. Waiting for him in the living room was a beautiful puppy with a big red bow around his neck. Ben hugged and thanked his parents, before taking his new pup for a walk around the neighborhood.

No matter what age, Christmas will always remain a magical time of year. Ben and his puppy shared many special Christmases together, joyfully celebrating the season.
