How far would you go to survive?

Watch the original version of Saw

Prologue:

The room was dark and musty, the walls coated in grime and filth. The only sound was the faint drip of water from a leaky pipe. Five strangers sat chained to the walls, their eyes darting around the room, searching for any signs of escape.

Suddenly, a video screen flickered to life, showing a sinister puppet with a red bowtie and black suit. The puppet’s eyes glinted in the dim light as it spoke in a gritted voice, “Hello, my friends. I want to play a game.”

One of the captives, a young woman with long brown hair, screamed in terror. “Who are you? Why are you doing this?”

The puppet chuckled. “I am simply here to teach you the value of life. You are all here for a reason, and only by embracing that reason can you hope to escape.”

The captives looked at each other in confusion, realizing that they were all strangers to each other. What could they possibly have in common?

The puppet continued, “You have all been chosen because of your moral shortcomings. You have strayed from the path of righteousness, and it is up to you to find your way back. The game is simple. Follow my rules, and you may just survive. Disobey, and well…” The puppet trailed off with a smirk.

Suddenly, the lights flickered on, revealing the room in all its horror. The walls were stained with blood, and in the center of the room lay a dead man with his stomach cut open. In his stomach, a key gleamed.

The captives realized with a sickening feeling that they were in for the fight of their lives.

Chapter 1 – The Abduction:

Detective Jack Richardson woke up with a start, drenched in sweat. He’d been having the same nightmare for weeks now – a nightmare that always ended with him waking up screaming.

In the nightmare, he was chained to a wall, surrounded by darkness. A sinister puppet with a red bowtie lurked in the corner, speaking in a menacing voice. The puppet’s eyes glinted in the dark, and Jack could feel its malevolence radiating off of it like a palpable force.

Jack shook his head, trying to clear the image from his mind. He couldn’t afford to be distracted – not now, not when he was so close to catching the killer.

For the past month, Jack had been investigating a string of abductions that had plagued the city. Five people had disappeared without a trace, leaving behind no clues or evidence. It was as if they’d vanished into thin air.

But Jack knew better – he knew that there was a pattern to the abductions, a method to the killer’s madness. He just had to find it.

Jack was in his car, driving back to the precinct, when his phone rang. It was his partner, Sarah.

“Jack, we’ve got a lead,” she said eagerly.

Jack’s heart quickened. “What is it?”

“A witness saw a van matching the description of the one used in the abductions parked outside a warehouse on the edge of town. I’m sending you the address now.”

Jack revved the engine, his blood pumping with adrenaline. This was it – the break they’d been waiting for. He sped towards the warehouse, his mind racing with possibilities.

As he pulled up to the warehouse, Jack saw that it was rundown, with peeling paint and boarded-up windows. It looked abandoned, but he knew better.

He drew his gun, taking a deep breath before bursting through the door. The warehouse was empty – or so it seemed.

Jack heard a faint sound coming from a room in the back, the sound of muffled cries and clanking chains. His heart pounding, he made his way through the darkened warehouse, his gun at the ready.

When he reached the room, he froze in horror. Five people were chained to the walls, their faces contorted in terror. A video screen flickered to life, showing a sinister puppet with a red bowtie and black suit.

“Hello, Detective Richardson,” the puppet said in a gravelly voice. “Welcome to my game.”

Jack felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead. He knew that voice – he’d heard it before, in his nightmares.

The puppet continued, “Your friends here have been chosen to play my game. They will learn the value of life, or die trying. And you, Detective Richardson, are my special guest.”

Jack felt sick to his stomach. He knew that he and the captives were in for a fight they might not survive. The question was, could they beat the odds and escape before it was too late?

Chapter 2 – The First Test:

The captives had only just begun to understand the severity of their situation when the video screen flickered to life. The puppet, with its unnerving grin, appeared on the screen and began to explain the rules of the game.

“This is a game of survival,” the puppet said. “You will be given the chance to win your lives back, but only if you’re willing to play by my rules.”

The group watched in horror as the puppet explained the first test. One of them would have to retrieve a key that was hidden in the stomach of a dead man lying in the middle of the room. But in order to do so, they would have to cut through the man’s stomach to get it.

The captives looked at each other, realizing the gravity of their situation. “What do we do?” one of them asked.

“We have to get that key,” another said. “Otherwise, we’re dead.”

The group looked at the dead man in the middle of the room, his bloated stomach protruding from his shirt. They knew what they had to do, but none of them wanted to be the one to do it.

After some debate, they decided to draw straws to determine who would make the grisly sacrifice. The unlucky person was a young man named Jason, who had been arrested for drug possession.

Without hesitation, Jason approached the body and took out a small knife he had in his pocket. The group watched in horror as he began to cut into the man’s stomach, blood and bile spilling onto the floor.

After what seemed like an eternity, Jason finally retrieved the key and held it up triumphantly. The group let out a collective sigh of relief, grateful that they had managed to get through the first test.

But their relief was short-lived. As they turned to leave the room, the door swung shut and locked behind them. They were trapped, with no choice but to move on to the next test.

As they walked down a long hallway, they noticed pictures hanging on the walls. Each picture showed one of the captives in a compromising position, engaging in immoral or illegal behavior.

The group realized then that they had been chosen for a reason. They were all morally corrupt in some way, and the captor had chosen them to teach them the value of life.

As they approached the next room, they could hear screams coming from inside. They knew that the next test was going to be even more brutal than the first. But they had no choice but to continue on, hoping that they would be able to survive long enough to find a way out.

Chapter 3 – The Second Test:

The group had barely recovered from the horrors of the first test when the second one began. A maniacal voice, that of their captor, boomed out from the speakers in the room. “Hello, my little pawns,” the voice said, “Are you ready for the next game?” The captives looked around nervously, desperate to know what awaited them.

Suddenly, a spotlight shone on one of the captives, a young woman who looked like she had seen better days. She was huddled up in a corner, shivering from fear. The captors began to realize that she was a drug addict, and the smell of cigarettes and cheap liquor emanated from her.

The voice continued, “This young lady is a drug addict, hooked on her vices. She has two options. Option A: she can walk out of here alive, but it will come at the cost of her own life. Option B: she can take a lethal dose of the same drug that got her here in the first place, and rob me of the opportunity to teach her the value of life. The choice is hers.”

The group watched in terror as the woman collapsed to the ground, sobbing softly. She knew that she had very little time to make her decision.

“I can help you,” one of the captives said quietly, trying to offer some kind of support. But the woman shook her head, tears streaming down her face. “I deserve this,” she whispered to herself. “I deserve to die.”

The captives watched in horror as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a syringe. She hesitated for a moment, tears rolling down her cheeks. But then she plunged the needle into her arm and closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable.

The seconds ticked by, and the woman began to feel the effects of the drug. Her breathing became labored, her heartbeat racing. But then, to everyone’s shock, the effects began to wear off. The woman opened her eyes and looked around, confused.

The captors gasped in amazement, realizing that the woman had injected herself with a saline solution instead of the lethal drug. “Congratulations,” the voice boomed out. “You have passed the second test. You have shown that you have the will to live.”

The captors cheered, a sense of relief flooding over them. But deep down, they knew that they were still trapped, still at the mercy of their captor. The woman just shrugged and muttered, “It was worth a try.”

As the group settled down, waiting for the next test, they began to realize that there was more to this than just a twisted game. There was a purpose to their captor’s madness, a method to his madness. And they were determined to find out what it was.

Suddenly, the room began to spin, and one of the captives collapsed to the ground. The voice spoke again, “Ah, it seems that I forgot to mention that the syringe contained a sedative. You’ll have a few hours to rest before the next test begins. Sweet dreams, my little pawns.”

The captors struggled to keep their eyes open, knowing that they had to remain vigilant if they wanted to survive. But the darkness soon consumed them, and they fell asleep, dreaming of escape and freedom.

Chapter 4 – The Third Test:

The man’s name was John, and he was a grieving father who lost his entire family due to a drunk driver. He had been wallowing in his grief and seeking revenge for years, but now he found himself chained to a wall with strangers, forced to play a game that could cost him his life.

The puppet on the video screen explained the rules of the game. John had to choose whether to forgive the driver who killed his family or kill him. If he chose forgiveness, he would be given a way out, but if he chose vengeance, he would die along with the other captives.

The group watched in silence as John struggled with his decision. He had been consumed with rage and hate for so long, but now he had a chance to let go and move on. The puppet taunted him, saying that forgiveness was a foolish choice, and that only death could bring true justice.

John’s mind raced as he thought about his options. He thought about his wife and children, and how much he missed them. He thought about the driver who had taken them away from him, and how much he wanted to make him pay. But deep down, he knew that revenge wouldn’t bring his family back.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, John made his decision. He walked up to a table that had two glasses of liquid on it. One was clear and the other was red. He knew what they represented. Forgiveness and revenge.

John lifted the glass of clear liquid and drank it down. The group watched in awe as the puppet clapped its hands in approval. John had made the right choice.

A door opened, and John was released from his chains. He stumbled out of the room, dazed and confused, but alive. The other captives watched as he walked away, wondering if they would be as lucky.

As John made his way through the dark, unfamiliar halls, he thought about his family and how much he missed them. He knew that he would never forget what had happened to them, but he also knew that he couldn’t let his grief consume him any longer.

As he reached the end of the hallway, he found the exit. He pushed the door open and stepped out into the daylight, breathing in the fresh air. He realized that he had been given a second chance, and he wasn’t going to waste it.

The other captives were released one by one, each one facing their own impossible choices. Some made it out alive, others didn’t. But John was the only one who chose forgiveness over revenge, and he knew that it was the right choice.

As he walked away from the nightmare, he realized that he had learned an important lesson. Life was precious, and he was grateful for every moment he had left. He would honor his family’s memory by living the best life he could, and he would never forget the value of forgiveness.

Chapter 5 – The Fourth Test:

The atmosphere in the room was thick with tension as the group waited anxiously for the next test to begin. They had already endured four gruesome tests, each one more horrifying than the last. They knew that they were trapped in a sick game, but they had no idea what the twisted mind behind their captivity had in store for them next.

Suddenly, the lights flickered and the video screen flashed to life. The puppet appeared on screen, its gravelly voice echoing through the room.

“Congratulations,” it said. “You have made it this far. But now, you will face a test unlike any you have faced before.”

The screen went dark, and a spotlight shone on one of the captives, a woman named Rachel. She swallowed nervously as she realized that she was the chosen one.

“Rachel,” the puppet’s voice boomed. “You have a choice to make. You can either sacrifice your own life, or you can choose one of your fellow captives to take your place. Who will it be?”

Rachel’s heart sank as the weight of the decision hit her. She looked around at the other captives, searching for an answer. But they all looked back at her with a mix of fear and resignation.

“I can’t do it,” she whispered. “I can’t choose.”

The puppet’s voice grew impatient. “Time is running out, Rachel. You must choose, or you will all face the consequences.”

Rachel’s hands shook as she tried to make the impossible decision. She knew that choosing someone else to die was just as cruel as sacrificing herself. She couldn’t bear the guilt of choosing.

But as the seconds ticked by, she realized that the choice had already been made for her. One of the other captives, a man named Jake, had stepped forward.

“Rachel,” he said, his voice steady. “I’ll do it. I’ll take your place.”

A gasp went up from the other captives as they realized what Jake had just done. Rachel looked at him, tears streaming down her face.

“No, Jake,” she pleaded. “I can’t let you do this.”

But Jake was resolute. “It’s okay, Rachel. I’ve done some bad things in my life. Maybe this is my chance to make up for it.”

Rachel nodded, and the puppet’s voice boomed through the room. “Excellent choice. Jake, you have proven yourself to be truly selfless. You will be given a chance to live, but the choice will come at a high cost.”

The spotlight shifted to a table in the corner of the room. On it lay a pile of knives, each one sharper than the last. And in the center of the table was a small device, ticking ominously.

“Jake, you must choose a knife and cut off one of your limbs,” the puppet said. “Or you can choose to let the device go off, killing you instantly.”

Jake stared at the table in horror, his resolve faltering. But Rachel stepped forward, taking his hand.

“I’ll do it,” she said. “I’ll cut off your arm.”

The other captives watched in horror as Rachel picked up a blade and prepared to sever Jake’s arm. They could hear his muffled screams as he bit down on a cloth to stifle them.

Finally, the blade sliced through flesh and bone, and Jake collapsed, writhing in pain. Rachel caught him, cradling him in her arms as he gasped for breath.

“Thank you,” he whispered. “Thank you for giving me this chance.”

But the room was not done with them yet. As they turned to leave, the lights went out, plunging them into darkness. And then, the sound of metal grinding against metal filled the room.

They felt the ground tremble beneath them as a new phase of the game began. And the captives knew that they were running out of time.

Chapter 6 – The Fifth Test:

The room was completely silent as the fifth test was revealed. In the center of the room lay a tangled maze of barbed wire, stretching from wall to wall. The captives could see that the path through the maze was narrow and tortuous, lined with razor-sharp wire at every turn. On the other side of the maze lay a door that promised escape, but the only way to reach it was to crawl on their hands and knees through the wire.

The captives knew that time was of the essence. They could hear the ticking of a clock in the background, indicating that they only had a limited amount of time to complete the test. The first to step forward was a young woman, her eyes fixed on the door at the other end of the room.

Without hesitation, she began to crawl through the maze, wincing as the wire cut into her skin. She left a trail of blood behind her, marking her progress through the maze. The other captives watched, horrified, as she pressed on, her determination unwavering.

It seemed like an eternity as she crawled through the maze, her progress slow but steady. Every inch of her body was scraped and bleeding, but she refused to give up. Her mind was focused on the prize at the other end of the maze, the promise of freedom.

As she approached the end of the maze, the captives watched in horror as the wire began to twist and turn in impossible ways, making the path even more difficult to navigate. But the young woman was undeterred. She gritted her teeth and pressed on, inching closer and closer to the door.

Finally, with a burst of energy, she burst through the final barrier of wire and emerged victorious. The captives cheered as she stumbled to her feet, covered in blood and sweat but alive. She rushed to the door, her hand shaking as she reached for the handle.

And then…nothing. The door wouldn’t budge. She tried again and again, but it was clear that she was trapped. The captives watched in horror as the young woman realized that she had been fooled, that there was no way out.

The ticking of the clock grew louder, a constant reminder that time was running out. The captives knew that they had to find a way to escape, and fast. They looked at the maze of wire, trying to come up with a plan.

Suddenly, one of the captives spotted a loose wire, dangling from the wall at the edge of the room. It was just long enough to stretch across the maze, forming a makeshift bridge. The captives gasped in relief as they realized that this might be their only chance.

With renewed hope, they began to work together, using their combined strength to stretch the wire across the maze. It was a risky move, and they knew that they only had one shot. They could hear their captor’s laughter in the background, taunting them as they worked.

Finally, with a final burst of energy, they managed to create the bridge. One by one, the captives crawled across the wire, their eyes fixed on the door at the other end of the room. It was a perilous journey, but they refused to give up.

And then, just as they were all about to reach the door, disaster struck. The wire began to fray and snap, sending the captives tumbling to the ground. They could hear their captor’s laughter growing louder, taunting them as they struggled to get up.

With seconds left on the clock, the captives managed to reach the door. But it was too late. They had failed the test, and their fate was sealed.

As the door slammed shut behind them, they realized that they had been duped. The test wasn’t about escaping the maze, it was about showing them that there was no escape from their captor’s twisted game.

They were back to square one, trapped in the room once again. And this time, they knew that their chances of survival were growing slimmer by the second.

Chapter 7 – The Sixth Test:

The silence in the basement is broken by the sound of a match being struck. A faint glow illuminates the room, revealing the source of the light – a single candle sitting on a metal table. The five captives stare at it in confusion, unsure of what to expect next. Suddenly, the puppet on the video screen comes to life, its eyes glowing red.

“Welcome, my friends,” the puppet cackles. “You’ve made it this far, but the worst is yet to come. You see that candle? It’s your only source of light, your only source of heat. If it goes out, you will die. Each of you will take turns keeping the flame alive. If you fail, you will pay the ultimate price.”

The group glances at each other nervously, realizing the gravity of their situation. They have no idea how long they’ll have to keep the candle burning, or what kind of obstacles they’ll face. But one thing is clear – if they fail, they’ll die.

The first person to take the challenge is a young woman named Anna. She approaches the table with shaking hands, her eyes fixed on the candle. She picks up a small metal tool lying next to it and realizes that it’s a bellows – a device used to blow air onto the flame. She takes a deep breath and begins to blow, hoping to keep the flame alive.

At first, it seems easy enough. The candle flickers, but it stays lit. Anna looks around the room, trying to stay calm. That’s when she notices something strange. The temperature is dropping rapidly, and she can see her breath in the air. She blows harder, trying to keep the flame from going out.

Suddenly, a burst of frigid air hits her from behind. She turns around and sees that a door has opened, letting in a gust of cold wind. She realizes that the door must lead to the outside, and that the killer is deliberately trying to extinguish the flame.

Anna tries to close the door, but it’s too heavy. She turns to her fellow captives for help, but they’re too far away. Panic sets in as she realizes that the flame is getting weaker by the second. She blows with all her might, but it’s no use. The candle goes out, and Anna screams as she’s engulfed in darkness.

The other captives watch in horror as the puppet on the screen cackles in delight. They know that they’ll have to be more careful than ever if they want to make it out alive. The game is far from over, and the killer seems to be getting more ruthless with each passing test.

As they prepare for the next challenge, the captives realize that they’re in for a long, brutal night. They have no idea what kind of obstacles they’ll face, or what kind of sacrifices they’ll have to make. All they know is that they’ll have to fight tooth and nail to survive, or die trying.

Chapter 8 – The Seventh Test:

The room was eerily quiet as the group watched the woman, chained to the wall with a lit candle in front of her. She had to keep the flame burning for a certain amount of time, or else she would be killed. The rules were simple, but the tension was palpable. The group knew that this was the most dangerous test yet.

The woman was young, with long dark hair and trembling hands. She wore a simple dress that was stained with sweat and dirt. Her eyes were fixed on the flickering flame in front of her, as if her life depended on it. And it did.

The group watched as the door slammed shut, leaving them in complete darkness. The only source of light was the candle in front of the woman. They could see her breath fogging up the air, as she struggled to keep the flame from going out.

At first, the room was warm, but as time went by, the temperature dropped rapidly. The woman shivered, clenching her jaw and holding her breath. The group watched in horror as the candle flickered, threatening to go out with every gust of wind.

One of the captives, a man with thick black glasses, whispered to the group, “We have to do something. We can’t just sit here and watch her die.” But no one spoke. They were all frozen in fear, their hearts pounding in their chests.

The woman gritted her teeth, her hands started to burn, but she didn’t dare move. She knew that one wrong move could mean the end of her life. The group watched her, trying to keep their own fear at bay.

Suddenly, the door creaked open, letting in a blast of icy air. The group groaned as they felt the cold seeping into their bones. They could barely see anything, except for the woman’s trembling form and the flickering flame.

The seconds felt like an eternity, as the woman struggled to keep the candle alive. Her eyes darted around the room, searching for any sign of help or hope. But all she could see was darkness.

As the time ticked away, the group’s fear turned into panic. They started to scream and shout, trying to distract the woman from the candle. They knew that if the flame went out, she would be killed. But the woman didn’t budge.

The room grew colder and colder, until the group could barely move. Their teeth chattered, and their limbs grew numb. But the woman’s eyes remained fixed on the flame, as if it were the only thing in the world.

Finally, the door slammed open, letting in a rush of heat and light. The woman let out a gasp of relief as she saw the flame still burning. The group cheered, banging their fists against the walls. They had survived the test, but at what cost?

As the captives stumbled out of the room, they were greeted by their captor, who simply smiled and said, “You’ve passed. Congratulations.” The group looked at him in horror, realizing that they were just pawns in his game.

The woman was the only one that mattered, the only one that had passed the test. The group was disposable, nothing more than entertainment for their captor.

As the woman was led away, the group huddled together, trying to make sense of what had just happened. They knew that they had to find a way out, to escape this nightmare before it was too late. But how? They had no idea. All they knew was that they were in for the fight of their lives.

Chapter 9 – The Finale:

The final test has arrived, and the remaining survivors are battered and bruised, both physically and emotionally. They’ve endured unimaginable pain and suffering to make it to this point, but they know that the game is far from over. As they enter the next room, they’re met with a chilling sight. The puppet is sitting in the middle of the room, surrounded by flickering candles. It’s as if they’ve entered a sacred ritual, and the tension in the air is palpable.

The voice of their captor booms out from a speaker above their heads. “Congratulations, my little pawns. You’ve made it this far, but your journey is not yet complete. You have one final test ahead of you, one that will determine whether or not you’re truly worthy of life.”

The survivors look around nervously, wondering what could possibly be worse than what they’ve already been through. But they know better than to let their guard down now. They’ve learned that their captor is always one step ahead, always ready to spring a new trap.

Suddenly, the floor beneath them drops away, and they plummet into a dark, murky pool of water. They swim to the surface, gasping for air, and realize that they’re in an underground tunnel system. The water is freezing cold, and they can barely see a few feet in front of them. But they know they have to keep moving, or they’ll drown.

As they swim through the tunnels, they encounter all sorts of obstacles. They have to swim through narrow passages, dodge spinning blades, and hold their breath for minutes on end. The water is so dark and murky that they can’t see what’s coming next, and they have to rely on their instincts to survive.

Just when they think they’ve made it to the end, they’re confronted with one final challenge. A gate blocks their path, and they can see something moving behind it. They try to push it open, but it won’t budge. The voice of their captor echoes through the tunnels.

“You’ve come so far, my little pawns. But you’re not quite done yet. There’s one more choice you have to make. Either one of you can sacrifice yourself to open the gate, allowing the others to escape. Or you can all stay here, and drown together.”

The survivors look at each other, realizing that this might be their final choice. They’ve been pushed to their limits, forced to make impossible decisions, and they’re exhausted. But they know that they can’t give up now. They’ve come too far, and they owe it to the others who didn’t make it this far to keep fighting.

Suddenly, one of the survivors steps forward. It’s the man who was given the choice to forgive or kill the drunk driver. He looks around at the group, his eyes filled with a fierce determination.

“I’ll do it,” he says, his voice steady. “I’ll open the gate.”

The other survivors protest, telling him that they can’t just leave him behind. But he’s already made up his mind. He takes a deep breath, and dives under the water.

The others watch in horror, as bubbles rise to the surface. They’re about to give up hope, when suddenly, the gate starts to creak open. The man emerges from the water, gasping for air, but alive.

The survivors hurry through the gate, and emerge into the sunlight. As they look back at the tunnel system, they see their captor standing at the other end, watching them with a cold, calculating gaze.

“You may have won this round,” he says, “But there’s always another game to be played.”

The survivors know that they’ll never be the same after this experience. They’ve been scarred both physically and emotionally, and they’ll carry the memories of their ordeal with them for the rest of their lives. But they’re grateful to be alive, and they know that they have a newfound appreciation for the value of life. They walk away from the place of their torment, ready to start a new chapter in their lives, and hoping that they never have to face anything like this again.

MELISSA

Please, let us go! We don’t deserve this!

On the contrary, Melissa. You have all made poor choices in your lives. It’s time to face the consequences.

The screen shows a syringe filled with a lethal dose of heroin.

JIGSAW PUPPET (CONT’D)

Melissa, you have a choice. You can either sacrifice your own life to save the others, or inject yourself with this.

Melissa starts to cry as the others watch in horror.

Please, I can’t do this! I don’t want to die!

JIGSAW PUPPET

Time is running out, Melissa.

The group starts to shout over each other, trying to come up with a solution.

RYAN

We’ll find a way to save you! We can work together!

MELISSA

No, I can’t do this! I don’t want to hurt anyone else!

JIGSAW PUPPET

You have ten seconds, Melissa.

Melissa starts to hyperventilate as the group watches in horror. Suddenly, one of the captives, a former nurse named JESSICA, steps forward.

JESSICA

I can do it. I know how to inject myself without dying.

Melissa looks at Jessica with tears in her eyes.

MELISSA

Are you sure?

Jessica nods and takes the syringe from the screen. She injects herself with the heroin and collapses to the ground.

MELISSA (CONT’D)

No! Jessica!

The chains on Jessica’s body release, and the group watches in horror as she takes her last breath.

The Jigsaw puppet appears on the screen once more.

JIGSAW PUPPET

Well done, Melissa. You have just saved their lives. But remember, your actions have consequences. Will you make the same mistakes again?

The captives huddle together in shock as the video screen goes black.

FADE OUT.

Scene 4

FADE IN:

INT. ABANDONED BASEMENT – DAY

The five captives, including MARIA, are chained to the walls. The TV screen flickers to life, showing the puppet.

PUPPET

Greetings. You must be wondering why you’re here.

MARIA

We didn’t do anything wrong. Why are you doing this to us?

PUPPET

You’re all here for a reason. Each of you has something to learn. And today, you’ll learn the value of forgiveness.

The screen switches to a video of a drunk driver hitting a family car, killing a young girl.

PUPPET (V.O.)

This man is Jeff. He lost his daughter to a drunk driver. And now, he’s given a chance to forgive the driver or kill him.

JEFF

(angrily)

I’ll kill him. He deserves to die.

The group watches in horror as Jeff struggles with his decision.

MARIA

(to Jeff)

Please don’t do this. Killing him won’t bring your daughter back.

JEFF

(tearfully)

I don’t know what to do.

Suddenly, the door opens and the driver is wheeled in on a gurney.

DRIVER

(sobbing)

I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to kill her. Please forgive me.

Jeff hesitates for a moment, then drops the knife.

JEFF

(crying)

I forgive you.

The TV screen switches to a message of congratulations.

PUPPET (V.O.)

Well done. You’ve won this round. But be warned, the game isn’t over yet.

FADE OUT.

Scene 5

SCENE: INT. A DANK BASEMENT – NIGHT

The five strangers are chained to the walls, trying to figure out their next move. The Jigsaw puppet appears on a video screen.

JIGSAW PUPPET

Congratulations on making it this far. You’ve all faced impossible choices, but there’s still more to come.

The group looks at each other, wondering what’s in store for them next.

JIGSAW PUPPET (CONT’D)

For your next test, you must decide who lives and who dies. One of you must be sacrificed in order for the others to live.

The group starts to panic, realizing that they’re going to have to turn on each other to survive.

JESSICA

I don’t want to die!

MARK

We have to stay calm and figure this out.

The group falls silent, deep in thought. Suddenly, a woman speaks up.

KAREN

I’ll do it. I’ll sacrifice myself.

The group looks at her in shock.

KAREN (CONT’D)

I’ve done things in my life that I’m not proud of. Maybe this is my chance to make up for it.

The group starts to argue, some trying to convince Karen to change her mind, others trying to decide who should be the one to make the sacrifice.

As the tension in the room rises, Karen suddenly collapses, clutching her chest.

JESSICA

What’s happening to her?

MARK

It’s the gas. We’re running out of time.

The group starts to panic, realizing that they may all die if they don’t make a decision soon.

Suddenly, a man speaks up.

TOM

I’ll do it. I’ll be the one to make the sacrifice.

The group looks at him, stunned.

TOM (CONT’D)

I don’t have anything to live for. Maybe this is my chance to do something good with my life.

The group argues, but ultimately agrees that Tom will be the one to make the sacrifice.

As Tom steps forward, the Jigsaw puppet appears on the screen.

JIGSAW PUPPET

Congratulations, you’ve made your choice. But remember, your actions have consequences.

Suddenly, the chains fall from the walls, and the group is free.

They rush to Tom’s side, trying to save him, but it’s too late.

MARK

We have to keep going. We have to find a way out of here.

The group nods, determined to survive.

FADE TO BLACK.

Scene 6

EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE – NIGHT

The five captives stand nervously in the center of a dimly lit warehouse. Their eyes are fixed on the TV screen in front of them as the puppet master, Jigsaw, appears.

JIGSAW

Welcome to your sixth test. One of you must crawl through this maze of razor-sharp wire to the door on the other end. If you make it, you will be free. But be warned, the wire is electrified, and any touch will result in immediate death.

The group looks at each other in horror as they see the maze of wire in front of them.

CUT TO:

INT. THE MAZE

We see a close-up of one of the captives, FRANK, as he starts crawling through the maze. We hear the sound of buzzing electricity as he inches closer and closer to the door.

Suddenly, Frank’s hand slips, and he touches the wire. We see his body convulse and smoke rise from his skin. He falls to the ground, lifeless.

CUT TO:

INT. WAREHOUSE

The remaining captives scream in terror as they watch Frank’s gruesome death on the TV screen.

JILL

(crying)

Oh my God, he’s dead!

TOM

(voice shaking)

We have to keep going. We can’t let his death be in vain.

The group hesitantly continues on, crawling through the maze of wire. One by one, they make it to the door on the other end.

CUT TO:

INT. JIGSAW’S LAIR

Jigsaw sits in front of a bank of monitors, watching the captives’ progress. He looks satisfied as he sees that four of them have made it through the maze.

JIGSAW

(to himself)

Another successful test.

He pulls out a small notebook and makes a few notes, then turns off the monitors.

FADE TO BLACK.

Scene 7

EXT. ABANDONED BASEMENT – NIGHT

The group is huddled together, watching as the candle in front of the woman flickers ominously.

WOMAN: (voice quivering) I can’t do this. It’s too cold.

MAN 1: (sympathetically) Just focus on the flame, you got this.

MAN 2: (impatiently) Hurry up, we don’t have all night.

The woman takes a deep breath and focuses on the flame, blowing gently to keep it alive. Suddenly, the door at the end of the room creaks open, and a gust of icy wind blows into the basement.

WOMAN: (terrified) No!

She blows harder, but the flame starts to waver. The group watches in horror as the flame goes out.

SFX: A gunshot rings out.

The woman falls to the ground, dead. The group turns to see the puppet on the video screen, laughing menacingly.

SFX: The door slams shut.

MAN 1: (furious) You sick bastard!

MAN 2: (desperate) How do we get out of here?

They start to panic, searching for a way out. Suddenly, the floor beneath them starts to shake.

SFX: The ground rumbles.

The group clings to each other as an earthquake shakes the basement. When it finally stops, they realize that the wall behind them has crumbled, revealing a passage.

MAN 1: (determined) Let’s go!

They crawl through the narrow passage, pushing debris out of the way. As they emerge on the other side, they realize that they’re in a whole new room, filled with even more traps.

MAN 2: (scared) Oh god, what now?

MAN 1: (resolute) We stick together. We can do this.

The group sets off, bracing themselves for whatever horrors lie ahead.
