Prologue
Max was a young boy who lived with his family in the city. But on a rare weekend, they decided to take a trip up to the countryside to enjoy the fresh air and scenery. Little did Max know that what awaited him on that trip were grand adventures and unexpected friendships.
Chapter 1: The Journey Begins
Max and his family left the city early in the morning, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready for their rural adventure. On the drive, they made multiple fun stops, including a farm that caught Max’s eye. He became especially excited to explore the barn and the animals that lived in it.
Max made his way towards the barn, but he was stopped by a farmer who leaned against the door. The farmer welcomed Max and allowed him to enter. Inside, Max found a whole host of animals, but one in particular caught his eye. It was a medium-sized dog with smoky black and white fur, and it had a curious look in its eyes. Max couldn’t help but smile when the dog ran up to him and gave him a big wet lick.
Chapter 2: Making Friends
Max and the dog quickly became friends. Max had never had a dog before and he loved how the pup played and wrestled around with him. He quickly realized that the pup didn’t have a name, so he decided to call him Rooster.
Rooster and Max spent the entire day together and Max was sad to leave that evening. But before he left, he gave Rooster a big hug and promised to visit him soon.
Chapter 3: Goodbye, For Now
Max said his goodbyes to Rooster and all the other animals at the farm, and his family continued their journey. As they drove away, Max looked out of the window, his thoughts on his new four-legged friend. He was already counting the days to when he could come back and visit again.
Little did Max know, but those days would come much sooner than he could have ever imagined.
Chapter 4: Unexpected Return
Max was surprised when his family announced that they would be returning to the countryside that same weekend. His parents had heard about a festival that the town was hosting and they thought it would be fun to attend.
Max was even more surprised when they pulled up to the farm where he had met Rooster. Everyone piled out of the car, but Max rushed towards the barn and looked inside. He heard the familiar bark of his old friend and rushed in. Rooster was just as excited to see Max and they started playing right away.
Max was overjoyed to be reunited with his new pal and promised that he would visit as often as he could. The two of them spent the entire day together, playing and running around the farm.
Epilogue
Max and Rooster became fast friends, and their bond only grew stronger with each visit. Whenever Max needed a place to go to escape the hectic life of the city, he would make the trip to the countryside and spend some quality time with his four-legged friend.
No matter how much time passed, Rooster was always waiting with open paws to welcome back his loyal companion. They had formed an unbreakable bond that only got stronger with time. Wherever life took them, Max and Rooster were always sure to keep their friendship alive.

FADE IN:
EXT. COUNTRYSIDE – DAY
The countryside is seen in all its glory, with rolling hills and lush green vegetation. We focus in on MAX and his FAMILY, walking towards the farm.
MAX
Look! There’s the barn!
His parents smile and lead him in.
INT. BARN – DAY
MAX is wide-eyed and excited as he takes in the sights of all the animals. He takes a few steps forward, and then stops in his tracks as he sees a dog with smoky black and white fur. The dog takes a few steps forward as well, and looks up at MAX with a curious expression on its face.
MAX (smiling)
Hey there, buddy!
The dog cocks its head and lets out a small bark in response.
MAX
What do you think? Should we be friends?
He holds out his hand, palm up, and the dog responds by licking it. MAX grins.
MAX
I think that’s a yes!
EXT. COUNTRYSIDE – DAY
MAX is playing fetch with ROOSTER, who is happily chasing after the stick. MAX’S PARENTS sit happily on the sidelines, watching their son have a great time.
MAX’S MOTHER
You know, he’s really taken to that dog.
MAX’S FATHER
That he has.
MAX throws the stick and ROOSTER chases after it again. Just then, MAX and ROOSTER’s playtime is interrupted by a honking sound. MAX’S PARENTS stand up.
MAX’S MOTHER
That’s our cue to go, Max.
MAX reluctantly stands up and turns to ROOSTER.
MAX
Well, I guess this is goodbye for now.
He kneels down and gives ROOSTER a big hug.
MAX
But I’ll be back soon. I promise.
ROOSTER gives a little whine as MAX stands up and walks away with his family. MAX turns for one last look at ROOSTER, who is watching them go with a sad look in his eyes. MAX smiles and waves.
MAX
Bye, Rooster!
FADE OUT.
FADE IN
EXT. COUNTRYSIDE – DAY
MAX and his FAMILY arrive back at the farm. MAX jumps out of the car and runs straight for the barn.
INT. BARN – DAY
MAX stops in his tracks as soon as he sees ROOSTER, who runs up to him with excitement. MAX kneels down and ROOSTER leaps into his arms. MAX laughs, and the two of them start playing.
MAX’S MOTHER (O.S.)
Looks like he remembered you!
MAX’S FATHER (O.S.)
He certainly did.
MAX and ROOSTER continue to play as MAX’S PARENTS smile and watch from the sidelines.
MAX’S MOTHER
Come on, let’s leave them be for a bit.
MAX’S FATHER
He’s in good hands.
They turn and exit the barn, leaving MAX and ROOSTER to their playtime.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
EXT. COUNTRYSIDE – DAY
MAX and ROOSTER are playing chase. ROOSTER is chasing MAX, who is running in circles and laughing. MAX’S PARENTS watch from a nearby bench, smiling at their son’s enthusiasm.
MAX’S FATHER
Looks like he’s really enjoying himself.
MAX’S MOTHER
He loves coming out here.
Suddenly, MAX stops running and looks off into the distance. He spots something, but it’s too far away to make out. He squints and then gasps.
MAX
Mom! Dad! Look!
MAX’S PARENTS stand up and look off into the distance. They can see a group of people walking towards the farm.
MAX’S FATHER
I think it’s the festival we heard about.
MAX
Can we stay and watch it?
MAX’S PARENTS look at each other and then back at their son.
MAX’S MOTHER
Why not?
MAX smiles, and the four of them walk off to get a better view of the festival.
