JIMMY: (smiling) Rafe, Danny! It’s good to see you guys!
RAFE: (grinning) Jimmy, it’s good to see you too!
DANNY: (nodding) Yeah, we’re ready for action.
Suddenly, Evelyn walks in. Rafe and Danny both stare at her in awe.
EVELYN: (smiling) Hi guys, I’m Evelyn Johnson. I’ll be working with you as a Naval nurse.
RAFE: (smiling) Rafe McCawley. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
DANNY: (nodding) Danny Walker. Same here.
Evelyn shakes their hands and continues on her way.
JIMMY: (laughing) Looks like you two are smitten.
RAFE: (grinning) Yeah, I guess you could say that.
DANNY: (smirking) Don’t get your hopes up too high, Rafe.
Rafe and Danny share a tense look as they both realize they are in love with the same woman.

Scene 2
FADE IN:
EXT. PEARL HARBOR – DAY
A bustling naval base with various planes and ships docked along the harbor. We follow RAF and DANNY, both young and enthusiastic fighter pilots, as they disembark from a ship and make their way towards the base. They’re dressed in uniform and carrying their duffel bags.

Can you believe we’re finally here, Danny?

The trio continue walking towards the base, the newness of everything around them still fresh and exciting.

INT. TRAINING ROOM – DAY
Rafe, Danny, and other fighter pilots are sitting in a classroom, listening to an instructor. The room is filled with maps and diagrams.
INSTRUCTOR
(voice over)
The key to a successful dogfight is anticipation. You have to know your enemy’s movements before they make them.
Rafe is paying close attention while Danny is tapping his fingers impatiently on the desk in front of him. Suddenly, a loud explosion shakes the room and everyone jumps up in alarm.
CUT TO:
EXT. PEARL HARBOR – DAY
The sky is filled with smoke and debris as Japanese planes rain down bombs on the base. Rafe, Danny, and Evelyn all scramble for cover, dodging bullets and explosions.
EVELYN
(yelling)
We need to get to the infirmary! There are wounded everywhere!
RAFE
(yelling back)
I’ll cover you! Go!
Danny and Evelyn run towards the infirmary while Rafe stays behind, firing his gun at attacking planes. As the chaos intensifies, Rafe becomes increasingly desperate to make sure his friends make it out alive.
CUT TO:
EXT. PEARL HARBOR – DAY (LATER)
The attack has died down and the smoke is slowly clearing. Rafe and Danny are both covered in dirt and blood, but otherwise unharmed. Evelyn is treating wounded soldiers nearby.
RAFE
(to Danny)
You okay?
DANNY
(nodding)
Yeah, you?
RAFE
(determined)
We need to get back up in the air. We can’t let this go unanswered.
Danny nods in agreement, and the two take off towards their planes.

Scene 3
Logline: Childhood friends Rafe and Danny become entangled in a love triangle with Naval nurse Evelyn just as Japan launches a devastating attack on Pearl Harbor. As they fight for survival, they must also confront their complicated feelings for each other and the woman they both love.

RAFE: (concerned) What is it?
EVELYN: (pauses) Danny and I have gotten close. I didn’t mean for it to happen, but I can’t keep pretending that I don’t have feelings for him too.
Rafe’s face falls as he realizes he has competition for Evelyn’s affection.
RAFE: (stunned) Danny?
EVELYN: (apologetic) I know it’s complicated, but I just wanted to be honest with you.
RAFE: (regains composure) I understand. I just need some time to process this.
EVELYN: (worried) Rafe, please don’t let this ruin our friendship.

Evelyn nods and Rafe exits the room, deep in thought.

RAFE: (frustrated) Can’t you see that this is tearing us apart?
DANNY: (sympathetic) I know, and I’m sorry. But we have to put our feelings aside and focus on the bigger picture. We’re at war, Rafe.
Rafe pauses to consider Danny’s words. He knows Danny is right and they have a duty to their country. But he can’t help feeling hurt by his friend’s betrayal.

DANNY:
(nodding)
Sure is. I just hope the weather holds up.
RAFE:
(concerned)
Why? What’s going on?
DANNY:
(sighs)
I don’t know. I just have a bad feeling about today.
Suddenly, a loud explosion rocks the airfield. Rafe and Danny look around in confusion as more explosions are heard in the distance.
RAFE:
(alarmed)
What the hell is going on?
They run towards the hangar and find Admiral Kimmel and General Short already there.
ADMIRAL KIMMEL:
(turning to Rafe and Danny)
Gentlemen, we’re under attack.
RAFE:
(eyes wide)
Who? How?
GENERAL SHORT:
(grimly)
The Japanese. They’ve launched a surprise attack on us.
DANNY:
(angrily)
Those bastards. We’ll show them what we’re made of.
ADMIRAL KIMMEL:
(nodding)
That’s right, Danny. We need to defend our country and our base.
The sound of planes can be heard overhead. Rafe and Danny look up to see a swarm of Japanese planes heading towards them.
RAFE:
(determined)
Let’s go.
Rafe and Danny run towards their planes and begin to take off. They join the other American fighters in the air to engage the Japanese pilots.
CUT TO:
INT. JAPANESE AIRCRAFT CARRIER – DAY
Colonel Sato is leading the Japanese squadron. He is calm and focused as he watches the American planes approaching.
COLONEL SATO:
(in Japanese, subtitled)
These Americans are no match for us. We will destroy them and take control of Pearl Harbor.
The Japanese planes begin to attack the American fighters, leading to a chaotic and intense dogfight in the skies above Pearl Harbor.

FADE IN:
EXT. PEARL HARBOR – DAY
We see Japanese planes flying overhead, dropping bombs on the naval base below. Explosions rock the ground as the attack begins.

I’ve seen better days.
EVELYN
(overhearing)
We all have.
Suddenly, a building in the distance explodes, sending debris flying through the air. The three rush towards the explosion to see what they can do to help.
EVELYN
(pointing)
Over there! We need to get those people out.
They sprint towards the building, dodging falling debris. Once they arrive, they find several soldiers trapped under the rubble.
RAFE
(to Danny)
We need to lift this beam. On three.
Together, they lift the beam, allowing Evelyn to pull the soldiers to safety.
EVELYN
(hurriedly)
We have to get them to the medical tent. They need help.
RAFE
(turning to Danny)
We’ll take them. You stay here and help with the rescue efforts.
Danny nods as Rafe and Evelyn lift the wounded soldiers and carry them away.
DANNY
(sotto voce)
(to himself)
Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse.
He turns back to the rescue efforts, determined to do what he can to help.

INT. RAFES COCKPIT – DAY

Everything look good over there, Rafe?
RAFE:
Yeah, just waiting for the go-ahead.
Danny pauses for a moment before responding.
DANNY:
Listen, I know we’ve had our differences in the past, but I’m glad to have you by my side on this one.
Rafe looks over at Danny’s plane, nodding in agreement.
RAFE:
We’re in this together, brother.
EXT. TOKYO SKIES – DAY
Japanese fighter planes swarm around Rafe and Danny’s planes, firing relentlessly. Rafe maneuvers his plane, dodging the incoming fire as he catches sight of General Yamamoto’s plane in the distance.
RAFE:
There he is. Let’s finish this.
Danny stays close behind Rafe as they close in on Yamamoto’s plane. The General turns to face them, his eyes narrowed in determination.

You will not succeed. Japan will not fall to your bombs.
