Prologue

It was a week before Christmas, and the McCallister family was getting ready to head to Paris for the holidays. The house was buzzing with activity as everyone frantically packed and prepared for the trip. Amidst all the chaos, eight-year-old Kevin McCallister was struggling to keep up. He had managed to pack his own bag, but nobody seemed to have noticed that he was still in the house.

As the family rushed out the door, Kevin was left behind, alone, and scared. But little did he know that he was about to embark on a wild adventure that he would never forget.

Chapter 1: The Unintended Abandonment

Kevin woke up on the morning of December 23rd to an empty house. He had slept in and didn’t realize that his family had left until he went down to the kitchen for breakfast. When he found nobody there, he went upstairs to check on his parents, only to find their bed unmade and their suitcases gone.

Panic set in as Kevin wondered where his family had gone. As he wandered around the house, he realized that he was all alone, and his family had forgotten him. Kevin was terrified and didn’t know what to do.

As the day went on, Kevin began to realize that he had the house all to himself. He could eat whatever he wanted, watch whatever he wanted, and do whatever he wanted. It was an exciting thought, and Kevin couldn’t help but feel a sense of liberation.

However, as the night drew in, Kevin started to feel lonely and scared. The house felt big and empty, and the sounds of creaking floors and howling wind made him uneasy. He missed his family and wished they were there with him.

In the midst of his loneliness, Kevin remembered the conversation he had overheard earlier that day between two suspicious-looking men. They had talked about how they were planning to rob a house. Kevin’s mind raced as he realized that his own house could be the target.

It was then that Kevin decided to take matters into his own hands. He would have to defend his home and keep the burglars out. So, he began to make preparations. He gathered various items from around the house, such as paint cans, marbles, and toy cars, to use as traps. He set up tripwires and rigged the front door with a blowtorch.

As Kevin worked, he felt a sense of purpose. He was no longer alone and scared. He had a mission to protect his home, and he was up for the challenge.

As the night went on, Kevin’s preparations continued. He set up an elaborate system of traps and had even managed to tie up a rope across the stairs to make the burglars trip and fall.

As he lay in bed, waiting for the burglars to arrive, Kevin felt a sense of anticipation and terror. He had no idea what was going to happen, but he was ready. He had set up the ultimate defense, and he was prepared to fight to keep his home safe.

Little did he know that the burglars were already on their way, and a showdown between Kevin and the burglars was about to take place.

Chapter 2: The Burglars are Coming

As Kevin watched his family’s car drive away, he couldn’t help but feel a little scared. He had never been left alone before, especially not on Christmas Eve. But as the hours passed, Kevin started to feel more and more empowered. He had the whole house to himself, and he was going to make the most of it.

But just as Kevin was settling into his independence, a startling realization hit him. There were burglars coming to his house, and he was all alone. Kevin had overheard the burglars talking earlier that day, and he knew they were coming to rob his house. He had to act fast.

Kevin immediately went into survival mode. He started searching the house for anything he could use to defend himself. He found a pair of paint cans and tied them to a string, creating a makeshift weapon. He also found a blowtorch in the garage and began to brainstorm ways to use it to fend off the burglars.

As Kevin worked on his defense plan, he couldn’t help but feel a little scared. He was just a kid, after all, and he was up against two grown men. But he couldn’t let fear consume him. He had to be brave if he wanted to protect his house.

The hours ticked by as Kevin worked on setting up booby traps around the house. He strategically placed marbles on the floor, rigged a blowtorch to the front door, and put tar on the basement stairs. He even put a feather on the door handle to alert him if anyone entered the house.

As Kevin worked, he heard the sound of a car pulling into the driveway. It was the burglars. They had arrived, and Kevin’s heart raced. He had to act fast if he wanted to defend his house.

Kevin ran to the top of the stairs and peered down into the living room. He saw the burglars entering the house, and his heart sank. He had to do something, and he had to do it fast.

Kevin pulled on the string he had tied to the paint cans, sending them crashing down the stairs. The burglars fell over, and Kevin couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. His plan was working.

But the burglars quickly regained their footing and started to climb the stairs. Kevin retreated to his room, grabbing a BB gun and a pile of ornaments on the way. He stood at the top of the stairs and waited for the burglars to get closer.

As they reached the top of the stairs, Kevin shot the BB gun, hitting one of the burglars in the head. The burglar fell back down the stairs, and Kevin ran to the bathroom to grab more ammunition.

As Kevin loaded his BB gun, he heard the sound of the other burglar breaking into his room. Kevin quickly devised a plan, and he grabbed his uncle’s aftershave, spraying it onto a rope that he had set up earlier. He pulled the rope, causing the burglar to fall into a pile of feathers.

As Kevin started to feel a sense of victory, the burglars started to catch on to his traps. They started to dodge the paint cans, jump over the marbles, and avoid the blowtorch. Kevin was running out of ideas, and he was getting exhausted.

But just as Kevin was starting to lose hope, a stroke of luck hit. One of the burglars stepped on a nail, and Kevin saw his chance. He grabbed a BB gun and shot the burglar in the groin. The burglar fell over in pain, and Kevin ran to the phone to call the police.

As the police arrived, Kevin couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. He had defended his house against two grown men, and he had done it all on his own. He had proven to himself that he was brave and resourceful, and he knew he could handle anything that life threw his way.

As Kevin settled into bed that night, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He had managed to scare off the burglars, and he had done it all on his own. He had shown that he was capable of defending his house, and he knew that he would never forget this night for as long as he lived.

Chapter 3: The Booby Trap Plan

Kevin sat in his room, intensely planning the booby traps he would set around the house to stop the burglars. He had to make sure he was prepared since his life and his home were at stake. He rummaged through his belongings for materials to build his traps, and he found everything he needed, from ropes to paint cans. He had watched enough action movies to know the perfect mechanism to trap his enemies.

He knew he had to set the traps in strategic locations, so he went around the house to scout for spots to set-up his traps. He started with the staircase, intending to make the burglars trip and fall. He tied a rope on a nearby banister and stretched it across the stairs, making it difficult to see. He imagined the burglars stumbling and falling down the stairs, hitting their heads on the ground.

Next, he targeted the entrance to the house. He put oil on the doormat to make it slippery; anyone who stepped on it would fall flat on their back. He couldn’t stop imagining the sight of the burglars’ faces on the slippery mat.

He went to the kitchen to set more traps. He took all the pans and pots and lined them up on the floor after putting them on a tray. He made sure the tray was positioned in such a way that, when someone stepped on it, the pots and pans would fall onto their head and create a loud noise.

Kevin’s grin widened as he thought about how he would make the burglars pay. He ran to the living room to set more traps. He planned to hit the burglars with paint cans that he would launch from the top of the staircase. He hung a long piece of rope from the ceiling, tied it to a paint can, and positioned the can at the top of the stairs.

He then created a bucket of hot water to pour on the burglars; he knew this would make them uncomfortable and slow them down. He decided to put it on the second story, so he carried the bucket up the stairs and carefully placed it on the landing.

However, Kevin knew he needed more traps to keep the burglars at bay. He went to the basement, where he found his father’s toolset. Using his newfound knowledge of mechanical engineering gained from watching cartoons, he created a tripwire mechanism. If someone stepped on it, a large piece of wood would swing down from the ceiling and hit them in the face.

Finally, Kevin went to his parents’ room and set a blowtorch at the door, making sure that the burglars could not get in without getting burnt. He had done it; he had made sure that he was ready to face the burglars.

He sat on his bed, admiring his work, and feeling a sense of accomplishment. However, he knew he could not let his guard down. He stayed up all night, ready to implement the traps as soon as the burglars arrived.

The night passed by slowly, but eventually, Kevin heard noises outside the house. His heart raced as he peeked through the curtains, and he saw the burglars approaching his house. He knew it was time to put his plan into action.

Kevin raced around the house, turning off all the lights and setting the traps. The burglars entered the house, unaware of the danger that awaited them. They started to walk up the stairs, and Kevin grinned in anticipation.

Suddenly, he heard a loud thud. The burglars had fallen into his traps, and Kevin ran to the top of the staircase to watch the events unfold. The burglars’ faces were a mix of shock and anger as they tried to get up, but they kept slipping and falling.

Kevin couldn’t stop laughing as he watched them struggle. However, he knew he couldn’t celebrate yet; the burglars were still a danger to him, and he had to make sure they got caught.

Kevin continued to use his traps, one by one, as the burglars tried to catch him. He watched as they fell into his traps, one after another, until they were thoroughly defeated.

He then called the police, delighted that they had caught the perpetrators. His plan had worked, and he had saved his home. Kevin felt a sense of pride in himself, knowing that he had done something remarkable. He looked forward to telling the story for years to come.

The chapter ends with Kevin finally getting some rest after a night full of action.

Chapter 4: The Burglars Strike

Kevin watched from his hiding spot as the burglars managed to get into the house. He felt a pit in his stomach and his heart raced as he realized this was the moment of truth. All of his hard work and planning would be put to the test. Would his traps be enough to stop these criminals?

The burglars looked around, clearly impressed with the house. Kevin ducked behind a sofa, his eyes darting back and forth as he tried to stay hidden. He saw one of the burglars trying to turn on the lights, but they didn’t work. Kevin had made sure to cut the power to the entire house before they arrived.

The burglars slowly walked towards the staircase, presumably looking for valuables to steal. Kevin knew he had to act fast, so he emerged from his hiding spot and shouted, “Hey, I’m right here!”

The burglars turned quickly, surprised to see the young boy standing before them. Kevin ran towards the back door, and the burglars followed close behind. As soon as the burglars stepped onto the icy doorstep, Kevin’s trap was triggered. The burglars lost their footing and fell hard onto the icy surface.

Kevin laughed in delight as he watched them try to stand up, slipping and sliding comically on the ice. He knew it was a small victory, but it made him feel a little bit better about the situation.

The burglars seemed to regroup quickly, and they continued their pursuit of Kevin. He ran up the stairs, knowing his traps were waiting for them. The first trap he had set was a bucket of paint, which he had placed precariously at the top of the staircase. As the burglars ran up the stairs, Kevin pulled a rope, and the bucket tipped over, spilling paint all over them.

The burglars slipped and fell down the stairs, their bodies covered in bright red paint. Kevin couldn’t help but laugh at the sight. For a moment, he had forgotten how dangerous the situation was.

But he snapped out of it quickly as he heard the burglars starting to get up again. He ran to the next trap he had set – a bunch of marbles on the floor – and watched as the burglars tried to navigate through them, their feet slipping out from under them.

They finally made it to the top of the stairs, and Kevin ran to the next trap – a blowtorch set up to shoot flames when triggered. He quickly grabbed a can of hairspray and used it to activate the trap. Flames shot out, narrowly missing the burglars as they ducked and ran away.

Kevin felt exhilarated by the close call, but he knew he had to keep going. He ran to the next trap – a tripwire connected to a paint can. As the burglars ran towards him, Kevin pulled the wire, sending the can crashing down onto their heads and covering them in blue paint.

The burglars were getting angrier by the second, and their determination to catch Kevin was growing with each trap they encountered. But Kevin was determined to protect his home and keep them at bay.

He ran to the next trap – a pile of tar and feathers. He knew this trap was risky, but he had to try. He pulled the wire, and the bucket of tar and feathers fell onto one of the burglars, completely covering him from head to toe.

The other burglar finally managed to grab hold of Kevin, but before he could do anything, Kevin pulled one last trick out of his sleeve. He kicked the burglar hard in the shin and ran down the stairs, straight into the arms of his neighbor who had arrived just in time.

The burglars were caught by the police soon after, and Kevin’s family was reunited with him. He felt proud of himself for defending his home, but he also felt relieved that it was all over.

As he drifted off to sleep that night, he knew he would never forget the adventure he had been through. It was a Christmas he would never forget.

Chapter 5: Chase Scenes and Trickery

As Kevin runs through the house, the burglars are hot on his heels. They’re furious that a child has outsmarted them at every turn, and they’re determined to catch him. But Kevin is just as determined to stay alive.

He dashes into the kitchen and quickly turns on the stove, lighting the gas. Then he grabs some flour and tosses it in the air, creating a large white cloud that covers the entire room. As the burglars burst into the kitchen, they slip and slide on the flour, knocking into each other and falling over. Kevin takes advantage of their confusion and slips out the back door.

The burglars quickly recover and start to chase him, but Kevin is too fast. He darts around the house, dodging furniture and jumping over walls. He slides under a table just as one of the burglars tries to grab him, and then he climbs up a bookshelf to avoid another one. This kid is a natural acrobat!

But as Kevin runs towards his bedroom, he hears one of the burglars shout, “Hey, there’s a party going on in there!” Kevin quickly slams his bedroom door shut, and grabs a few mannequins that he had dressed up to look like party guests. He puts on some music and turns up the volume, hoping to fool the burglars.

As the burglars burst into the room, Kevin hides behind the mannequins. The burglars look around, confused, wondering why they weren’t invited to the party. But as they get closer to the mannequins, they realize that they’re not real people. Kevin takes the opportunity to slip out of the room and lock the door behind him.

The burglars start to ram the door with their shoulders, trying to break it down. But Kevin has one more trick up his sleeve. He hooks up a blowtorch to the doorknob, and waits for the burglars to break in. As soon as they do, he ignites the blowtorch, and the burglars run out of the room, their hair singed and their faces blackened.

Kevin finally has the upper hand. He watches from a hiding spot as the burglars run around, trying to find him. But Kevin has outsmarted them at every turn. He sneaks past them, and runs towards the front door.

But as he reaches the door, he hears a terrifying sound. It’s the sound of someone breaking in through the window. Kevin quickly realizes that there’s a third burglar, and he’s down in the basement.

Kevin rushes towards the basement, armed with a baseball bat. He cautiously descends the stairs, and sees the third burglar rifling through his dad’s tool chest. The burglar doesn’t notice Kevin, and Kevin whacks him with the bat. The burglar falls to the ground, unconscious.

Kevin runs up the stairs, just as the other two burglars burst into the room. But Kevin is ready for them. He holds up the burglar’s wallet, and says, “Hey, guys. I found your wallet.”

The burglars are confused. They don’t remember losing a wallet. But Kevin takes advantage of their confusion, and hurls the wallet towards the front door. As the burglars chase after it, Kevin slams the door shut and locks it.

Kevin has won. He’s outsmarted the burglars at every turn, and he’s saved his home from being robbed. As he sits down to catch his breath, he realizes something. He’s not scared anymore. He’s faced his fears head-on, and he’s come out victorious.

And with that, Kevin McCallister ends the chapter with a smile on his face, knowing that he’s a real hero.

Chapter 6: The Neighbors Help

As Kevin desperately tries to fend off the burglars, he hears a sound coming from outside. At first, he’s afraid that the burglars have brought backup, but then he realizes that it’s his neighbors who have come to investigate the commotion.

Kevin’s initial response is to hide, scared that the burglars might catch him. However, he soon realizes that the burglars are already inside the house, and he needs all the help he can get. So, he sneaks out of his hiding place and runs to his neighbor’s house, hoping they can help him.

As he knocks on the door, Kevin feels relieved to find that his neighbor, Mr. Marley, answers. Kevin explains the situation and pleads with Mr. Marley to help him. Mr. Marley quickly agrees and asks his wife to call the police while he heads over to Kevin’s house.

Mr. Marley enters the McCallister home and immediately sees the mess left behind by the burglars. He cautiously approaches the living room, where he sees the two burglars trying to get up from the floor, where they had fallen from one of Kevin’s traps.

The burglars, Harry and Marv, had been caught off guard by Kevin’s booby traps. They had fallen into a pit of tar, stumbled into a pile of paint cans, and had even been electrocuted by a set of Christmas lights.

Mr. Marley knows that he has to act fast, as Harry and Marv are still in the house, and Kevin’s safety is his utmost priority. He sneaks up on the burglars, quietly grabbing a nearby iron. With one swift motion, he knocks out Marv, who falls to the floor unconscious.

Harry, who was busy trying to get himself untangled from some Christmas lights, hears the commotion and quickly turns around. He sees Mr. Marley with the iron and realizes that he’s in trouble. Harry runs towards the door, but Mr. Marley manages to catch up to him just in time.

Harry and Mr. Marley engage in a scuffle, with Harry trying to overpower Mr. Marley. But Mr. Marley proves to be a formidable opponent, as he uses his military training to defend himself. He manages to knock Harry to the ground, and holds him there until the police arrive.

Meanwhile, Kevin’s mother arrives home, relieved to find that Kevin is safe. She hugs him tightly, and they both watch as the burglars are taken away in a police car.

The neighborhood comes together to celebrate the capture of the burglars, and Kevin’s parents apologize for leaving him behind. They promise to never take him for granted again, and Kevin forgives them, happy to be reunited with his family.

As the night wears on, Kevin and his family exchange gifts and are grateful for each other’s company. They learn the true meaning of Christmas, which is to appreciate the love of family and friends.

As Kevin drifts off to sleep, he can’t help but smile to himself, knowing that he had saved his home and his family from danger. He had proven himself to be a brave and resourceful young boy, capable of defending his territory from even the most bungling of burglars.

Chapter 7: A Narrow Escape

As Kevin desperately tries to escape from the burglars, he turns to his neighbors for help. The burglars are hot on his tail, but Kevin remains determined to protect his home and the valuable possessions inside.

The neighbors had already noticed unusual activity around the McCallister home, but they had no idea what was going on until they heard Kevin screaming for help. They quickly ran over to the house, ready to confront the burglars and help Kevin.

As they approached the house, they heard the sound of breaking glass and muffled shouting. They could tell from the noise that the burglars were inside and that Kevin was in danger. They knew they had to act fast.

The neighbors split up into two groups. The first group circled around the back of the house, while the second group remained at the front to distract the burglars. Kevin was hiding in his room, peeking out through the curtains as he watched the scene unfold.

The burglars were distracted by the commotion at the front of the house, thinking that they were about to be caught by the police. Little did they know, the police were still a few minutes away, and the neighbors were the only ones there to help.

As the burglars approached the front of the house, they were suddenly met with one of the neighbors, who had disguised himself as a police officer. The neighbor had put on a convincing uniform and even had a walkie-talkie, making the burglars believe that the police had arrived.

The burglars were caught off guard and confused, not realizing that they had been tricked. As they hesitated, the second group of neighbors snuck up from behind and tackled the burglars to the ground.

In the midst of the chaos, Kevin emerged from his room, relieved to see that the burglars had been caught. He ran outside to hug his neighbors, thanking them for saving him from the burglars.

The police arrived shortly after, arresting the burglars and taking them away. The McCallister family was finally reunited and everyone was relieved that the ordeal was over. They thanked the neighbors for their bravery and help during the crisis.

As they sat down to enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate, Kevin’s family realized the true meaning of Christmas. They had almost lost each other and they had taken everything they had for granted. They were grateful to be together and they promised to cherish their time with each other from that day forward.

Kevin ended the story with a cheeky grin, knowing that he had saved his family’s home and taught them a valuable lesson in the process. The family sat around the Christmas tree, laughing and sharing stories, happy to be together once again.

Chapter 8: Reunited with Family

As the airplane touched down at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Peter McCallister breathed a sigh of relief. It had been a long and stressful trip, but they had finally made it back home. His wife, Kate, leaned over and whispered in his ear, “I can’t wait to see the kids again.”

Peter smiled. It was good to be home.

As they made their way through the airport, Kate’s thoughts kept drifting back to Kevin. She couldn’t believe they had left him behind. She had been so focused on making sure they didn’t miss their flight that she hadn’t even noticed Kevin was missing. It was a mistake she would never forgive herself for.

The ride back to their house in Winnetka was a quiet one. Nobody knew what to say. They were all dreading what they might find when they got home.

Finally, they pulled into the driveway. As they approached the house, they could see that the lights were on and there was a car parked in the driveway. Peter breathed a sigh of relief. “Looks like everything’s okay,” he said.

But as they got closer, they could see that things were far from okay. The front door was wide open, and the house was a mess. Furniture was overturned, and there were broken ornaments scattered around the living room.

Kate’s heart sank. “Oh my god,” she whispered. “What happened here?”

Peter rushed inside, calling out for Kevin. “Kevin! Kevin, where are you?”

There was no answer.

Kate and the rest of the family followed Peter inside, and they all started to search the house. But there was no sign of Kevin.

As they moved through the house, Peter noticed that several items were missing. “I think someone broke in,” he said.

It didn’t take long for the family to realize what had happened. Kevin had been left alone on Christmas Eve, and a pair of burglars had broken into their house.

Kate’s heart felt heavy with guilt. “Kevin,” she whispered. “Where is he?”

Suddenly, they heard a noise coming from upstairs. Peter rushed up the stairs, and the rest of the family followed closely behind.

As they reached the top of the stairs, they saw Kevin standing in the doorway of his parents’ bedroom. He looked tired and scared, but he was safe.

The family rushed to Kevin, hugging him tightly. “We’re so sorry, Kevin,” Kate said, tears streaming down her face. “We didn’t mean to leave you behind.”

Kevin hugged his family back, but he couldn’t help feeling a little angry. “Where were you guys?” he asked. “I was all by myself.”

Peter put a hand on Kevin’s shoulder. “We know, son,” he said. “And we’re so sorry. But we’re here now, and we’re going to make it up to you.”

Kate pulled Kevin into another hug. “We love you, Kevin,” she said. “We love you so much.”

The family spent the rest of the night cleaning up the mess and trying to make things right. Peter and Kate apologized to Kevin over and over again, and Kevin eventually forgave them.

As they sat together in the living room, drinking hot cocoa and eating Christmas cookies, Peter decided to take action. “I think we should call the police,” he said. “Those burglars need to be caught.”

Kevin nodded. “Yeah,” he said. “They took a lot of stuff from us. And they messed up our house.”

The police arrived a short time later, and the family gave them a full report of what had happened. The officers promised to do everything they could to catch the burglars.

As the police left, Peter and Kate pulled Kevin into another hug. “We’re so glad you’re safe,” Peter said.

“Me too,” Kevin replied, smiling. “But can we please make sure this never happens again?”

The family all laughed, and Kate ruffled Kevin’s hair. “We promise,” she said. “We’ll never leave you behind again.”

And with that, they all settled into the couch to watch a Christmas movie, thankful to be together and safe.

Chapter 9: Happy Ending

As the sun sets on Christmas Day, the McCallister family sits down to dinner. The house is filled with laughter, chatter, and the sound of plates clinking. Kevin sits at the head of the table, wearing a Santa hat and a huge grin on his face. He’s happy that everything has worked out, and he’s excited to tell everyone about his adventure.

“I can’t believe you set up all those traps,” Uncle Frank says, shaking his head in disbelief. “You’re a smart kid, Kevin.”

“Well, I had to do something,” Kevin grins back. “I wasn’t going to let those burglars get away with it.”

The family laughs, and Kevin’s mom, Kate, leans over to give him a hug. “You were so brave, honey. I’m so proud of you.”

Kevin looks around the table and thinks about how lucky he is to have such a wonderful family. They may be a bit forgetful at times, but they love him more than anything in the world. He feels a swelling of warmth in his chest and smiles contentedly.

After dinner, the family gathers around the Christmas tree to open presents. Kevin’s little brother, Buzz, hands him a small gift-wrapped box. “Here, Kev. This one’s for you.”

Kevin tears open the wrapping paper and pulls out a small photo album. Inside are pictures of their family vacation, including shots of Kevin’s mischievous face as he plots to defend the house. He feels a lump form in his throat as he flips through the pages, remembering everything he’s been through.

Suddenly, he notices something odd about one of the photos. He squints at it and then gasps. “Hey, Mom, come look at this!” he calls out.

Kate comes over and looks at the photo. Her eyes widen in amazement. “Kevin, you’re a genius!” she exclaims.

Confused, the rest of the family gathers around to see what the fuss is about. Kevin points to a picture of the burglars, caught in one of his traps. “Look at this,” he says. “Do you see what they’re holding?”

The family squints at the photo, trying to make out what Kevin is talking about. Suddenly, Buzz leans in and gasps. “Is that…?”

Kevin nods excitedly. “It’s a diamond! They were going to steal it, but I caught them!”

The family erupts in cheers and applause. Kevin grins victoriously, knowing that he’s saved the day. He feels a sense of pride and satisfaction in knowing that he’s protected his family and their home.

As the night wears on, the family settles in to watch a movie together. They snuggle up on the couch, munching on popcorn and sipping hot cocoa. Kevin leans back against the cushions, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him. He knows that he’s learned an important lesson today. Family is the most important thing in the world, and he’s lucky to have such a wonderful one.

As the credits roll, Kevin’s mom leans over to give him a kiss on the forehead. “Merry Christmas, honey,” she whispers.

Kevin smiles sleepily, feeling warm and safe and loved. He’s happy to be home. Happy to be with his family. And happy to know that he’s made a difference.

They’re at a Christmas party, you silly twits.

Harry and Marv start walking around the house, inspecting the setting and checking for any valuables. Kevin lies in wait, observing their every move.

KEVIN

(to himself)

I’m ready for you, you lousy crooks.

INT. MCCALLISTER HOME – LIVING ROOM – DAY

Harry and Marv are walking by the staircase when the paint cans come flying down – smacking them both on the head.

HARRY

(angry, holding his head)

You little jerk!

Marv trips over the micro machines and falls into the Christmas tree.

MARV

(pissed off)

Why do I always get the tough jobs?

INT. MCCALLISTER HOME – KITCHEN – DAY

Kevin turns up the heat on the stove, causing the pot to whistle loudly.

KEVIN

(to himself)

Here comes the pièce de résistance.

INT. MCCALLISTER HOME – LIVING ROOM – DAY

Harry and Marv are starting to feel the impact of Kevin’s traps, but they’re not giving up yet. They spot Kevin trying to escape through the back door and start chasing him.

HARRY

(shouting)

You’re not getting away from us, kid!

Suddenly, Harry steps on a nail, causing him to scream in pain.

MARV

(freaking out)

Not the nail!

Kevin giggles with delight as he runs out of the door, leaving Harry and Marv in a heap.

FADE OUT.

Scene 4

INT. MCCALLISTER RESIDENCE – LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

Kevin anxiously waits for the burglars to arrive, his heart racing as he listens for any sound.

Suddenly, he hears the sound of the front door opening. Kevin sneaks behind the staircase and watches as the burglars enter cautiously.

Harry: “No one’s home. Let’s do this quick and easy.”

Marv: “I’ll check upstairs. You start with that room.”

As Marv climbs up the stairs, Kevin watches him from behind. He quickly pulls out his slingshot and shoots a marble at Marv’s head, causing him to fall back down the stairs.

Harry hears the commotion and runs into the living room, catching sight of Kevin.

Harry: “Hey, kid! What are you doing here?”

Kevin: “This is my house! You guys are the robbers!”

Harry lunges towards Kevin, but falls for another trap as he steps on a toy car, sending him crashing to the ground.

Marv, still dazed from the fall, tries to sneak up on Kevin from behind, but Kevin turns around and unleashes a barrage of paint cans on him, causing him to stumble and fall again.

Kevin rushes to the phone to call the police, but Harry catches him just in time.

Harry: “No phone calls, kid.”

Kevin: “You guys will never get away with this!”

Harry: “We already have!”

Just as Harry is about to grab Kevin, the doorbell rings. Harry looks at Kevin and warns him before making a break for it with Marv.

Kevin opens the door to reveal his neighbor, Old Man Marley.

Old Man Marley: “Are you alright, Kevin?”

Kevin: “Yeah, I just took care of some burglars.”

Old Man Marley walks in and surveys the damage.

Old Man Marley: “You’re a brave kid. Looks like you gave them more trouble than they bargained for.”

Kevin smiles, feeling proud of his accomplishments.

Kudos to Kevin for being a smart and brave young boy, and to Old Man Marley for coming to Kevin’s rescue. But what will happen next? Will the burglars return? And will Kevin be able to outsmart them again? Only time will tell.

KEVIN:

(panting) Okay, okay. Think, Kevin. What do I do now?

He looks around the dark basement, trying to come up with a plan. Suddenly, an idea pops into his head.

KEVIN:

(to himself) I know what I’ll do!

BURGLAR 1:

(to Burglar 2) What do you think? Should we check it out?

BURGLAR 2:

(nodding) Yeah, we should. But be careful.

They cautiously enter the room, guns at the ready. To their surprise, they find a room filled with mannequins dressed up as party-goers, complete with music and decorations.

BURGLAR 1:

(confused) What the hell is going on here?

Just then, Kevin jumps out from behind a curtain, dressed in a tuxedo and holding a toy gun.

KEVIN:

(smiling) Surprise!

The burglars are momentarily stunned, but quickly recover and start to chase Kevin around the room. They crash into the mannequins, knocking them over and causing chaos.

KEVIN:

(running) Come and get me, you filthy animals!

As the burglars chase Kevin around the room, he deftly avoids their grasp by jumping over a couch and sliding under a table. Finally, he makes a break for the door and escapes into the night.

FADE OUT.

Where’s the boy?

The burglars turn to face the new intruders, and Kevin takes the opportunity to make a run for it. He sprints past the burglars and out the back door.

You two, stay here. We’ll go after the kid.

OLD MAN MARLEY

Be careful, Marge.

MARGE

We’re your neighbors, Kevin. We heard you screaming.

OLD MAN MARLEY

Are you alright, son?

KEVIN

I’m fine. But those guys, they were trying to rob my house.

MARGE

We’ll take care of them. You stay here with us.

OLD MAN MARLEY

We got your back.

The three of them continue down the street, ready to take on the burglars and protect their neighborhood.
